A rare, unilateral or asymmetrically bilateral, non-inflammatory, irreversible eye disorder, where there’s a slow degeneration and thinning of the peripheral corneal stroma. The disorder may lead to against-the-rule astigmatism. Its onset is usually in the middle age, commonly seen in males above the age of 40.
