A surgical procedure that partially or entirely joins the upper and lower eyelid margins to narrow the eyelid opening and protect the cornea from exposure and disease. It is used to treat Mobius syndrome, Graves’ disease, Bell Palsy, or after a corneal graft. It is one of the most effective surgeries used to heal corneal lesions that are difficult to treat.
