An uncommon condition marked by sudden, rhythmic, periodic twitches of the superior oblique muscle. These twitches result in jumping of a single eye where the patient experiences oscillopsia and diplopia (especially when vision is directed downwards). The cause is unknown, but it is thought to result from blood vessel compression of the trochlear nerve.
