A loss of definition (quality) in the image due to all incoming light rays being focused at different points after going through a spherical surface. This effect is observed in optical devices like curved mirrors, lens, etc., because these devices are most often formed with spherical surfaces. Reflections of light rays strike off-centre compared to those that hit close to the centre.
