A rare, progressive disease marked by a spherical deformity of the posterior lens and can lead to infantile cataract. The posterior lens capsule protrudes along with the lens cortex into the vitreous cavity. It is caused by the thinning of the central posterior capsule, may develop in early childhood, and is almost always unilateral.
