A basic ophthalmic tool for assessing the front surface of the cornea. It is useful in the qualitative assessment of significant astigmatism of the cornea and irregular astigmatism like keratoconus. The instrument consists of black and white concentric rings by which the corneal reflex can be viewed through a small hole in the center of the disk.
