A rare autosomal dominant disorder, characterized by the absence of melanocytes in certain parts of the hair and skin. Melanocytes are the pigment cells that produce melanin, which gives color to the hair, eye, and skin. Lack of the cells leads to the development of an unpigmented patch of hair or skin.
