A laser surgical procedure used in the treatment of various eye conditions by peeling the corneal tissue. The technique removes superficial corneal surface irregularities and opacities. It is particularly useful in treating and managing anterior corneal abnormalities such as scars, corneal dystrophies, band-shaped keratopathy, and corneal degenerations. The procedure can also be used for the correction of refractive errors.
