Horizontal jerk nystagmus with a waveform-time variation, with cycles lasting between one and four minutes. It is characterized by spontaneous nystagmus in the primary direction of gaze (beating in one direction for a minute or two), followed by a null period, before the nystagmus reappears in the opposite direction for the same duration of time.
