Loss of visual acuity in any eye incidental to constant prolonged visual sensory stimulation deprivation. It is usually a consequence of extensive early patching of the healthy eye in the treatment of strabismus. The condition may be caused by hemangioma, blockage in the vitreous and aphakia.
