One of the perihypoglossal nuclei that play the role of neural integrator for horizontal eye movements. It helps to keep the eye steady in eccentric positions in the orbit. It is extensively connected to the vestibular nuclei and vestibulocerebellum and takes part in the vestibulo-cerebello-ocular motor circuit.
