Condition where grey-white lesions with frayed borders around the optic nerve head are present at birth and obscure underlying retinal vessels. It is caused by abnormal myelination of the retina’s nerve fibers and continues after birth. The condition is asymptomatic and rarely affects vision unless the macula is affected.
