An autosomal dominant disease that affects the body's connective tissue, and is caused by a mutation in the gene. This mutation gives rise to an increase in a protein called TGF-ß or transforming growth factor beta. It is an elastic fiber disorder characterized by myopia, abnormally long and slender limbs, aortic enlargement, dislocated lenses, and loose joints.
