A chronic autoimmune disorder marked by distinct inflamed areas of the skin covered with grey-brown scales and crusts. It can occur on the lips, nose, upper cheeks, the cheeks lining, ears, scalp or other areas of the body. The severe form of the disease can cause hair loss, permanent scarring and hyperpigmentation.
