The clear spherical structure that forms the border/junction between the cornea and the sclera. It houses pathways of aqueous humour outflow and is also where incisions for cataract and glaucoma surgeries are made. The structure contains the palisades of Vogt, which are fibrovascular ridges responsible for harboring a stem cell population. Corneal epithelial neoplasms are commonly found in this area.
