Partial displacement or dislocation of the natural crystalline lens that, however, remains in the pupillary area. It results from trauma on the zonules, glaucoma, chronic uveitis, and congenital abnormalities, and can cause multiple refractive errors, pupillary block glaucoma, damage to the retina, and blindness.
