A rare, inherited condition characterized by amyloid depositions in the corneal stroma. It’s a slowly progressing disease often found in males in their late twenties to early thirties, and which leads to loss of central vision. The dystrophy is categorized into three types, all of which can be treated by penetrating keratoplasty.
