A rudimentary stereopsis exam that uses a cover and two pencils. The test compares the responses of the patient when one eye is covered and with both eyes open. In manifest strabismus, it is used to detect abnormal binocular single vision. In a person with apparent straight eyes, it helps to confirm the presence of single binocular vision.
