A surgical procedure where healthy donated corneal tissue from a recently deceased person replaces a damaged or diseased cornea to restore vision. It is used in conditions such as stromal scarring, corneal ectasia like keratoconus, corneal opacities, stromal and epithelial diseases like Peter’s anomaly, infectious and non-infectious ulcerations and perforations.
