A disorder marked by the blockage of the central retinal vein. The restricted blood flow can lead to severe complications including ocular neovascularization, vitreous hemorrhage, retinitis proliferans, optic atrophy, macular degeneration, phthisis bulbi, or loss of the eye. It is a severe disease that can cause severe vision loss.
