A corneal iron deposition line (yellow or dark brown) generally associated with epithelial irregularities among the elderly. It is usually a horizontal iron line in the lower third cornea that may appear in a normal cornea, in relation to post-corneal surgery or in corneal conditions. In keratoconus, it appears as Fleischer ring at the base of the cone, inferior to a trabeculectomy bleb and at the edge of the pterygium.
