Pupillary block where the iris bulges or balloons due to a build-up of aqueous humor in the posterior chamber such that the aqueous does not flow out through the anterior chamber angle. The result is the anterior bowing of the peripheral iris and obstruction of the trabecular meshwork leading to angle-closure glaucoma.
