Localized separation of the iris from the ciliary body or rapture of the iris mostly due to blunt trauma, penetrating trauma, and an iatrogenic injury during ophthalmologic processes. It is associated with hyphema and an irregular pupil and may cause double pupil effect, glare, photophobia, and monocular diplopia.
