An abnormally increased distance between the orbits or eyes, signifying widely placed eyes, and a manifestation of a craniofacial deformity. It can be caused by traumas or tumors in the naso-orbital region. It occurs in conditions such as DiGeorge syndrome, Loeys-Dietz syndrome, and basal cell nevus syndrome.
