A low-contrast test at one meter to evaluate contrast sensitivity or if a child can detect objects with low contrast. The child is presented with various contrasts of a face where s/he is expected to select a face or blank card. At 12 weeks, an infant should have developed a normally functioning mirror neuron system and be able to perceive facial features.
