A rare condition characterized by inflammation of blood vessels or lining of the arteries, affecting women 65-85 years old. It is a form of vasculitis or arteritis involving the scalp, neck, and head arteries. It is associated with polymyalgia rheumatica, jaw claudication, tender scalp, few splinter hemorrhages, optic disc pallor, and edema.
