A type of paranasal sinus located above the eyes in the brow area. It is a pair of tiny, air-filled cavities that produce a thin mucous which drains through the nasal passages. Two large frontal sinuses make up the frontal bone that reaches over the eye sockets and eyebrows. Excess production of mucous or inflammation can lead to a condition called acute frontal sinusitis.
