A diagnostic procedure where yellow fluorescein dye (sodium fluorescein) is injected into the vein of an arm, and as the dye moves through the eye’s blood vessels, a special camera and a cobalt blue filter are used to capture the blood flow in the retina at timed intervals. The test reveals the presence of abnormal blood vessels or damage to the lining below the retina.
