A fistula created between the subconjunctival space and inner eye compartments during glaucoma filtration surgery to control intraocular pressure (IOP). Aqueous humor is allowed to percolate from the eye and below the conjunctiva when a scleral flap is created in the wall of the eye, thus lowering IOP.
