Bilateral lid retraction by normal infants (14-18 weeks old) upon lowering of light. It occurs when the palpebral fissures suddenly, momentarily, and forcefully broaden when lighting levels are abruptly lowered. There may be an occasional simultaneous downward eye aberration in younger infants.
