A small, porous, unpaired bone located between the orbits, dividing the nasal cavity from the brain. It consists of two extremely fragile, hollow, bone blocks. Each block’s interior is filled with air contained by the ethmoid sinuses, while the block’s lateral surfaces help to build the orbits’ medial walls. This bone forms the structure for the nose and superior sinuses.
