Small, pale, or yellow demarcated lesions (spots) observed on fundoscopy in hypertensive choroidopathy, caused by choroidal ischemia. They result from changes in the retinal pigment epithelium from the non-perfused areas of the choriocapillaris, and upon healing, form a pigment enveloped by a depigmented pale halo.
