Reflex eye movement based on the vestibulo-ocular automatic response, which stabilizes retinal images during head movement. It works by producing eye movements on the side opposite to the head movement, which preserves the image on the visual field(s) center. It is used to test brain function in severely lethargic or comatose patients.
