A gap seen on gonioscopy between the ciliary body and the scleral spur following cyclodialysis creating a direct connection between the anterior chamber and the suprachoroidal space. A cleft can result from trauma, surgical complications, and an infrequently performed glaucoma operation. It may close spontaneously. Failure to close can cause hypotony.
