A non-invasive, ablative procedure that uses a freezing probe to destroy the ciliary processes. It employs very low temperatures such as -112°F or -80°C and is the last option treatment for patients with refractory glaucoma and advanced, uncontrolled glaucoma. It is also used to reduce ocular pain in some cases of end-stage glaucoma.
