One of the photoreceptor proteins or pigment in retinal cones which has a maximum absorption for blue-violet light. This pigment displays more sensitivity to blue cones than chlorolabe and erythrolabe cones. It can absorb a maximum wavelength light of 440nm in the blue color end of the spectrum.
