A surgical procedure involving the replacement of a diseased or damaged cornea layer with healthy donor tissue. There are two types namely; Penetrating keratoplasty which is a full-thickness cornea transplant, i.e., replacement of the entire cornea and lamellar keratoplasty where only a portion of the cornea is transplanted.
