Corneal transplantation where a diseased or injured cornea/corneal tissue is replaced with a healthy cornea/corneal tissue from donated tissue harvested from a recently deceased person. The types of corneal graft include; penetrating keratoplasty (removal of full thickness central cornea), deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (replacement of only diseased corneal layers), and endothelial keratoplasty (involves replacing the innermost layer of the cornea).
