A rare disorder marked by a constricted pupil, drooping of the upper eyelid, deficient sweating of the face and displacement of the eyeball within the orbit. It arises from the impairment of the sympathetic nerves of the eye. The causes include trauma, tumor, stroke and an underlying disease involving the regions around the sympathetic nerves.
