Single, white, dull emboli of the fundus vessels found in the central retinal artery (close to the optic disk) and can cause permanent obstruction. Emboli may be blood clots, fatty deposits, air bubbles, etc., which are carried into the bloodstream, consequently lodging in a vessel and causing an embolism.
