Visual cortex area of the eye where color-sensitive groups of neurons collect in cylindrical shapes. This section stains with cytochrome oxidase with input from parvocellular cells in layer 4Cß of the primary visual cortex with output to the stripes in V2. A blob is found in the center of a hypercolumn.
