Inherited macular dystrophy defined by distorted vision (metamorphopsia), decreased central visual acuity and a reduction in the Arden ratio. It is incidental to an egg yolk-like lesion in the parafoveal or foveal area. It usually occurs in childhood or adolescence. However, the onset age and severity of loss of vision vary.
