A corneal degeneration composed of dust-like calcium salt deposits on the central cornea in the eye’s limbus. It’s an opacity growing from the peripheral cornea towards the central cornea. In the beginning, the deposits are grey but turn chalky-white with dots in the corneal nerves as the disease progresses. The causes range from chronic intraocular conditions, idiopathic diseases, systemic causes, or intraocular surgery.
