A type of eczema, which is a chronic, pruritic, inflammatory, allergic, non-contagious skin disease. It usually begins in childhood and typically affects the neck, legs, arms, and face, sometimes making them itchy and red. It is also associated with keratoconus and elevated immunoglobulin levels. Atopic dermatitis may be accompanied by hay fever and asthma.
