The fluid or thick, transparent watery substance that fills the space between the cornea and lens (in the anterior chamber). Light passes through the aqueous humor via the lens and falls on the retina. The ciliary body within the posterior chamber secretes aqueous humor which travels through the pupil into the anterior chamber. It then diffuses from the eye into the blood.
