Absence of the natural crystalline lens of the eye. It can be a congenital anomaly or the result of surgery, trauma, or an ulcer. The condition leads to a deep anterior chamber, farsightedness and loss of accommodation. It can cause complications such as glaucoma and vitreous or retinal detachment.
