An eye disorder in which there is a difference in the retinal image size or shape of the same object in the two eyes. It is often caused by a difference in the visual strengths of the two eyes or lens corrections of unequal powers (anisometropia). The disorder can lead to binocular vision challenges as the brain attempts to fuse the two images of different sizes or shape into one.
