A disorder characterized by parasympathetic denervation of an abnormally dilated pupil leading to poor light, but which constricts better in near reaction. Tonic pupil may be caused by postganglionic parasympathetic pupillomotor damage. The condition is closely associated with Adie’s syndrome.
