Occurs when the internal fluid pressure in the eye rises too fast due to a sudden blockage of aqueous humour fluid. As the pressure increases, it causes damage to the optic nerve. The disease is characterized by severe eye pain, blurry vision and red eyes. If not treated quickly, there is a possibility of permanent vision loss.
