A unilateral or bilateral rare condition where the ciliary muscles completely fail to alter the lens to accommodate. The lens cannot focus on near or far objects due to trauma, ocular disease, systemic disease, poisoning, or the use of cycloplegic drugs. A fixed, dilated pupil may characterize it.
